- Be Present and Gracious
- I’m very grateful you’re here!
- Where possible, turn off distractions like emails or other apps, and turn on any fidgets, sound machines, or snacks that help you concentrate.
- Camera On (If Comfortable)
- Keep your camera on if you can, just because it makes it easier for me to teach, but if you are not feeling it today, don’t worry about it. I have my self camera on, and I think I’m hilarious.
- Mute When Not Speaking
- Keep your microphone muted when you’re not speaking to minimize background noise and distractions.
- Participate and Listen Actively
- ABSOLUTELY ask questions or chime in when you would like. Being willing to ask a question can help others (including me) learn more and enriches the class as a whole!
- Use the "raise hand" feature if you want to ask your question out loud.
- If you ask your question in chat, know that I will be checking at the end of each section for questions or comments.
- Listen patiently and be respectful of everyone’s time and perspectives.
- Apply Your Context to This Class
- Think about how the content applies to your nonprofit’s needs and share relevant examples or challenges.
- Follow along with the class, OR make your own way – this is your time, you’re adults, do what you like.
- Confidentiality and Safe Space
- Respect confidentiality if discussing sensitive topics, and create a supportive environment for everyone.
